Job summary

Nestlé Purina North America in Batavia, Ohio, is seeking a Production Supervisor (Relief) to lead frontline teams in dry pet food production across designated areas, while ensuring safety, quality and efficiency. The role requires coaching, shift relief, and collaboration with engineering, maintenance and warehouse leadership.

The position starts with a 6 a.m.–2 p.m. training schedule, then transitions to a floater schedule including day and night shifts and weekends, with a focus on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6+ months leadership experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment.
• 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide shift relief support to other team leaders by overseeing frontline associates in the production of dry pet food in any of our designated manufacturing areas including Batching, Unloading and Slurry, Processing and/or Packing.
• Empower and develop team members through coaching, mentoring, training and recognition.
• Promote and maintain a culture of standards, emphasizing safety, quality and efficient, sustainable delivery.
• Manage the production technician schedule in assigned designated area to maximize output while minimizing costs.
• Ensure products are produced in compliance with quality key check points and within good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Utilize problem solving and collaboration skills to reduce downtime, optimize staffing, continuously improve operational efficiency and meet customer demand.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance and warehouse leadership to complete training, repairs and projects as assigned.
