Job summary

CMC is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to support inventory control in our steel/rod production environment. You will operate overhead cranes, coordinate with other crane operators, and assist with loading and moving scrap and billets.

The role requires reliable teamwork, safety focus, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, are comfortable with rotating shifts, and can lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Team player with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane to support inventory control of steel billets.
• Hook and unhook overhead crane chains and coordinate with crane operators.
• Move, lift and position scrap and billets safely using charge cranes.
• Communicate with crane operators to ensure correct loading and preparation of melts.
• Fill in as Scrap Crane Operator or Second Helper as needed.
• Inspect and operate charge cranes safely and efficiently.
