Job summary

Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR) is seeking Relief Mental Health Workers to support staff coverage for youth across Montana. You will help create a positive, safe, therapeutic environment and contribute to a trauma-informed culture.

You’ll mentor adolescents, teach coping skills, document timely updates, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve agency outcomes while upholding their mission and values.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal/child abuse background checks as required by Montana.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with youth and families.
• Commitment to trauma-informed care and continuous learning.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Help create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for youth.
• Supervise, mentor, and support adolescents in daily activities and skills.
• Teach coping strategies, life skills, and healthy communication.
• Assist with treatment programming and documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain regular communication with families and partnering agencies.
• Lead or support psycho-educational groups promoting growth and life skills.
• Collaborate with treatment teams to meet agency goals.
• Model YBGR’s mission, values, and culture of respect.
• Participate in ongoing training and coaching to strengthen skills.
• Support daily operations while upholding safety policies.
