The Veterinary Emergency Group in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support a fast-paced ER team. You’ll triage, assist with treatments, monitor patients, and participate in rounds, with opportunities to grow toward more advanced roles.

This role offers per diem hours with night and weekend availability, plus training to become RECOVER Certified Rescuer and pathways toward credentialed technician responsibilities. Competitive pay and VEG culture included.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating shifts.
• At least 1 year in a veterinary assistant role; emergency or specialty experience a bonus.

Responsabilidades

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases.
• Set up IV fluids, blood products, and medications.
• Assist during outpatient or inpatient care.
• Join patient rounds for continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certified Rescuer training.
• Grow into advanced responsibilities like anesthesia support.
