Job summary

DSS Final Mile Little Rock seeks a dependable Relief Driver to provide delivery coverage when regular drivers are unavailable and to assist with overflow routes and warehouse tasks.

You will operate cargo vans and box trucks across Little Rock and Central Arkansas, with flexible hours and varying start/end times to meet route and customer needs. Compensation: $800.00 - $1000.00 per week based on experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• Experience with cargo vans, Sprinter vans, or box trucks preferred.
• Knowledge of Little Rock, Central Arkansas, and surrounding areas preferred.
• Comfortable using smartphones, GPS/navigation, scanning apps, and electronic POD systems.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Willing and able to learn and operate multiple delivery routes.
• Must meet all DSS Final Mile and customer qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with warehouse tasks when not assigned to a route.

DSS Final Mile Little Rock, Arkansas Full-Time

DSS Final Mile seeks a dependable, professional, and flexible Relief Driver to support our Little Rock final‑mile delivery operation. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide delivery coverage when regularly assigned drivers are unavailable due to vacations, callouts, increased volume, or other operational needs. The Relief Driver may also assist with overflow routes, additional pickups and deliveries, and other assignments necessary to maintain our customer service commitments.

Because daily assignments may vary, the successful candidate must be comfortable operating different routes throughout Little Rock, Central Arkansas, and surrounding delivery areas. This position also requires flexibility with work hours and varying start/end times when necessary to meet route, customer, and operational requirements.

When not assigned to a delivery route, the Relief Driver may assist with warehouse and other operational duties at the Little Rock facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage for delivery routes when regularly assigned drivers are unavailable.
• Assist with overflow routes, additional stops, pickups, and other delivery needs.
• Safely operate assigned delivery vehicles, including cargo vans, Sprinter vans, and box trucks as applicable.
• Review assigned routes, customer instructions, and delivery requirements before departure.
• Properly load, secure, transport, and deliver customer freight.
• Complete all required scanning, photographs, signatures, and Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch throughout the route and immediately report delays, damages, customer issues, or other service exceptions.
• Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers.
• Properly handle returned, refused, damaged, or undelivered freight.
• Perform required vehicle inspections and immediately report safety or maintenance concerns.
• Assist with receiving, scanning, sorting, staging, loading, and general warehouse activities when not assigned to a route.
• Follow all DSS Final Mile safety procedures and customer‑specific service requirements.
• Be available to adjust work hours and route assignments when necessary to support operational needs.
• Perform other delivery or operational duties as needed to support the Little Rock facility.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• Previous delivery, courier, transportation, or route-driving experience preferred.
• Experience operating a cargo van, Sprinter van, or box truck is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Little Rock, Central Arkansas, and surrounding areas is preferred.
• Comfortable using smartphones, GPS/navigation, scanning applications, and electronic POD systems.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and handle customer freight.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Must be comfortable learning and operating multiple delivery routes.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours when necessary, including varying start and end times based on route assignments, customer requirements, driver call‑outs, and operational needs.
• Must be comfortable with daily assignments and schedules that may occasionally change with limited notice.
• Must meet DSS Final Mile and customer background, driving, and other applicable qualification requirements.

You may run one route today and a completely different route the next. Start and completion times may also vary depending on the assignment. For that reason, the ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, safety‑conscious, comfortable learning multiple routes, and willing to step in wherever needed to ensure our customers are serviced properly.
