Job summary

The Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic in Grandview, WA is seeking a Relief Dental Assistant to support dental providers, maintain patient records, perform X-ray procedures, and assist with infection control to uphold high care standards.

EPIC is used for records; bilingual English/Spanish bonus applies. Schedule is Monday–Friday 9–7 and Saturday 9–4 with on-call. This role contributes to a community health mission across multiple clinics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Registration as a Surgical Technologist if assisting a Dentist in the operating room may be required.
• Registered Dental Assistant or EFDA certification is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required at a level 10.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and vital signs.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and store them in the ED record.
• Set up and record periodontal charting.
• Prepare instruments for patient exams.
• Mix materials with infection control in mind.
• Provide preventive periodontal care and fluoride treatments.
• Starts and monitors nitrous oxide analgesia under supervision.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene.
• Ensure sterile packaging and clean autoclaves and operatories.
