Job summary

Nestucca Valley School District is seeking a Substitute School Bus Driver to transport students along assigned routes, on time and in compliance with state laws. Under supervision of a Transportation Coordinator, you will operate a school bus, perform pre-trip checks, and ensure student safety.

This role requires a valid CDL with Oregon School Bus Driver Certificate, ability to manage students, professionalism, and a commitment to safe driving.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing the operation of a school bus.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and maintain student management.
• Professional conduct in a workplace setting.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus on an assigned route, observing all traffic laws and regulations.
• Load and unload students at stops on an established time schedule.
• Check vehicle before each trip to identify any deficiencies.
• Report mechanical difficulties to supervisor.
• Record fuel, oil and mileage readings.
• Keep vehicle clean inside and out.
• Maintain discipline on bus and report discipline problems.
• Attend required online training and pass by assigned date.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
