Job summary

Kelso School District is seeking a Classified Substitute / Bus Driver to safely operate school buses on scheduled routes and trips, ensuring student safety and reliable transportation for district activities.

Applicants must meet driving experience requirements, hold a CDL and the Washington State School Bus Driver's Certificate (or obtain upon employment), and be able to communicate effectively with students, families and school staff. The district is an equal‑opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Minimum five years driving experience and provide a bus driving abstract.
• Valid Washington State School Bus Driver's Certificate or obtain it upon employment; interstate CDL certification required.
• Hearing and vision must meet safety standards.
• Ability to operate school bus controls; strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus on scheduled routes and trips.
• Service, inspect, and clean buses and related equipment.
• Maintain student safety and manage conduct while aboard.
• Complete forms and reports; maintain logs and route studies.
• Uphold district policies and procedures; communicate with staff and parents.
