Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement required.
• Minimum three years’ previous safe driving experience required.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status required.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Obeys all traffic laws and school bus safety regulations.
• Pre-trip inspection of school bus before each operation and completion of inspection report.
• Maintain discipline on bus and report disruptive students to authorities.
• Keep to assigned schedules and communicate delays.
• Notify proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharge students only at authorized stops.
• Lead responsibly on out-of-district trips and transport only authorized students and staff.
• Report all accidents and complete required reports; notify injuries immediately.
