Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools is hiring a Bus Driver to transport students safely along established routes in Alabama. The role requires maintaining a valid ABL and CDL with P/S endorsement, plus Alabama School Bus Physical or ALDOT Health Card.

You will report to the Transportation Supervisor and follow all safety and school policies. Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, student pickup and drop-off, maintaining discipline and a clean bus, and submitting required reports.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a valid Alabama bus driver's license (ABL).
• Hold a CDL with P/S endorsement.
• Maintain an Alabama School Bus Physical or ALDOT Health Card.
• Meet background clearance requirements per Alabama statutes and State Board rules.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to traffic laws and driving safety rules.
• Picks up and discharges students at authorized stops per route and schedule.
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections; submit required forms.
• Maintain a clean bus and proper student discipline on board.
• Report accidents promptly to transportation and authorities; follow procedures.
• Participate in training and maintain confidentiality of school/workplace information.
• Assist with evacuations when necessary and transport for field trips or events as assigned.
• Coordinate with Transportation Supervisor; perform duties in a courteous, professional manner.

Education

Alabama bus driver's license (ABL)

CDL with P/S endorsement
