Job summary

4 O School Services is seeking a dedicated bus driver to provide safe, orderly transportation for students on assigned routes. You will conduct pre-trip inspections, follow safety regulations, and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs while maintaining positive communication with students, parents, and staff.

The role requires operating a school bus with CDL/Class B endorsements, DOT medical card, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• Have or obtain a valid driver license with proper endorsements: CDL/Class B, Passenger, School Bus endorsement.
• Must have or obtain a current DOT medical card.
• Attend orientation/training session and complete required credentialing requirements (background check, drug testing).
• Comply with state/district regulations regarding use of controlled substances and alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and enforce safety regulations.
• Operate school bus on designated routes transporting students and staff safely.
• Maintain schedules and ensure on-time arrivals while prioritizing safety.
• Communicate via two-way radio with dispatch and emergency services; interact with parents and students.
• Manage student behavior and enforce bus rules; document incidents as required.
• Conduct semi-annual evacuation drills and assist during emergencies.
• Report accidents immediately and assist injured persons until help arrives.
• Keep the bus clean and maintain fuel levels; comply with policies.
