Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver to transport electrical materials on local routes in the Sterling, VA area. You will load, unload, and deliver goods safely, maintain DOT and safety standards, and communicate with dispatch to keep routes running smoothly.

Expect a Monday–Friday schedule (4:00am–12:00pm) with starting pay of $24.00–$26.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Join a long‑standing, stable company offering benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current DOT certification and Medical Certification cards required.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to drive box and flatbed trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.
• Knowledge of air brake systems.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. using proper technique.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Flexibility for second-shift work as needed.
• Strong verbal communication skills; ability to represent Shepherd professionally at every stop.
• Familiarity with area routes preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials on local routes using box and flatbed trucks (manual and automatic transmissions).
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently at each stop.
• Handle materials with care to prevent damage in transit.
• Complete routes accurately and on time - no customer left wondering.
