Job summary

CarMax in Columbus, OH is seeking a Vehicle Delivery Driver to transport cars to customers' homes and perform vehicle pickups for appraisal. You will represent CarMax professionally while ensuring safety and on‑time delivery.

This role emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and strong teamwork. Applicants should have a valid driver's license, 21+, clean driving record, and 1+ year in customer service and delivery driving.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older with a valid state‑issued driver's license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; candidates must meet CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and secure vehicles during transport.
• Must be able to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi‑level transport decks.
• Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including exposure to noise and inclement weather.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with adherence to CarMax policies and safety standards.
• 1+ year of customer service experience and 1+ year of delivery driving experience or CarMax experience.
• Must possess or obtain a DOT Medical Card before starting with CarMax.

Responsibilities

• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards using a company hauler.
• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Transport with care — load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Be accountable — move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company‑provided truck.
• Deliver with purpose — deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow.
• Represent CarMax professionally – interact with vendors, store associates, and the public in a way that reflects our values every time.
