Job summary

CarMax in Edison, NJ seeks a Vehicle Delivery Driver to deliver purchased vehicles to customers' homes, pick up vehicles for appraisal, and support inventory flow with safe, on-time transportation.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; candidates must meet CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; secure, block, and restrain vehicles during transport; and perform repetitive physical tasks including pulling, torquing, and tensioning chains, binders, and straps to meet FMCSA and CarMax load securement standards.
• Must be able to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi-level transport decks.
• Must possess or obtain a DOT Medical Card before starting with CarMax.

Responsibilities

• Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
• Transport with Care — load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Be accountable — move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors using a company-provided truck.
• Deliver with purpose — deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and keep customers and stores on schedule.
• Represent CarMax professionally – interact with vendors, store associates, and the public in a way that reflects our values every time.
