Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a DOT-certified Delivery Driver to join our Sterling, VA operation. You will deliver materials on local routes using box and flatbed trucks, loading and unloading at stops, while maintaining safety and DOT compliance.

The role emphasizes reliability, professionalism, and collaboration with dispatch and warehouse teams to keep routes moving and customers satisfied.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current DOT certification and Medical Certification cards required.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to drive box and flatbed trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.
• Knowledge of air brake systems.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. using proper technique.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Flexibility for second-shift work as needed.
• Strong verbal communication skills; ability to represent Shepherd professionally at every stop.
• Familiarity with Sterling-area routes preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries on local routes using box and flatbed trucks (manual and automatic transmissions).
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently at each stop.
• Handle materials with care to prevent damage in transit.
• Complete routes accurately and on time.
