Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply in Maryland seeks a professional CDL-A delivery driver to transport electrical materials to job sites, contractor yards, and customer locations. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain DOT compliance, and communicate proactively with dispatch to keep deliveries on schedule.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, supporting warehouse operations, and representing the company with customers, ensuring loads are accurate and delivered on time.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license is required.
• Current DOT and Medical Certification cards are required.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to operate tractor-trailer with manual transmission.
• Knowledge of air brake systems.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. regularly and perform the physical requirements of the role.
• Forklift certification is preferred or can be obtained through onsite training.
• Available for schedule adjustments as business needs require.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Strong verbal communication skills and clear, timely information relay.
• Familiarity with the delivery area and routes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical materials accurately and on time to job sites, contractor yards, and customer locations.
• Confirm delivery accuracy before departure and document any discrepancies.
• Communicate proactively with dispatch and branch operations if a delivery is at risk of delay.
• Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections every shift and operate safely in DOT compliance.
• Assist with loading and unloading, including pallet wrapping and staging outbound freight as needed.
• Work with warehouse team to ensure loads are built correctly before leaving the building.
• Represent Shepherd professionally at every delivery and maintain a customer-focused attitude.
