Job summary

Discount Building Supply is seeking a careful CDL driver to transport goods to clients near and far from Guntersville, AL. You will collect and load stock, deliver on time, and return to the store for the next run, all while complying with applicable laws.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of experience, be able to use GPS, stay fit to maneuver the truck in all weather, manage time and paperwork, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience
• Experience operating similar vehicles for work purposes
• Comfortable using GPS equipment
• Ensuring that you are always fit to maneuver the truck
• Compliance with all road and transport rules
• Ability to drive safely, irrespective of the weather or time of day
• Top-notch time management, interpersonal, and administrative skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs
• Capacity to work for days on end, if needed

Responsibilities

• Determining the details of each delivery
• Collecting and loading stock in a manner that prevents breakage
• Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times
• Informing clients and your Manager of potential delays
• Delivering stock to clients on or before each deadline
• Completing, storing, and submitting all necessary documentation
• Keeping track of all reasonable expenses and submitting proof thereof to obtain refunds
• Reporting all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention
