Job summary

Lyte is seeking a Hardware Reliability Test Engineer to own environmental and durability qualification for LyteVision modules and the LyteCore SoC, including HALT/HASS programs and failure analysis. This hands-on role requires running chambers in lab and translating results into field-life predictions.

You will build test plans for vibration, thermal cycling, humidity, dust, EMI/EMC, and IP-related validation, while contributing reliability considerations early in new designs and maintaining

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hardware reliability engineering, environmental/test qualification, or product qualification, ideally in sensors/optics/consumer electronics/auto-grade hardware.
  • Hands-on experience with HALT/HASS chambers, vibration tables, and thermal chambers.
  • Knowledge of reliability statistics (MTBF/MTTF, Weibull) and accelerated life testing models (Arrhenius, Coffin–Manson).
  • Experience with failure analysis or close collaboration with FA labs.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, IEC 60068-2, IPC/JEDEC, ISO 16750, or automotive/industrial standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and analyze HALT and HASS programs for LyteVision modules and subassemblies.
  • Build and run test plans for vibration, mechanical shock, thermal cycling, thermal shock, humidity, ingress, and EMI/EMC.
  • Characterize optical and sensor performance drift under environmental stress.
  • Define accelerated life test models and translate chamber results into field-life reliability predictions.
  • Lead failure analysis on units that fail in test or field, coordinating with silicon, optics, and mechanical teams.
  • Own reliability test fixtures and chamber infrastructure; collaborate with contract labs when needed.
  • Contribute reliability requirements and DFR input into new module/PCB designs with hardware and silicon teams.
  • Maintain test documentation, qualification reports, and traceability for customer/regulatory review.
  • Support functional safety and durability claims for robotics, automotive-adjacent, and industrial deployment.
