Job summary

CJ Schwan's Company in Pasadena, TX seeks a full-time Reliability/Maintenance Technician to support asset catalog improvements, preventive maintenance, and reliability testing. This 1st shift role runs 6 am–3 pm with opportunities for advancement within a manufacturing facility.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and 3+ years of industrial predictive-maintenance experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to mentor others in reliability methods. Health, 401k and PTO are included.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to follow machine blueprints, diagrams, sketches and SOPs.
• Experience with predictive tool methods in an industrial setting preferred.
• Team player capable of mentoring others on reliability methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with improvement of the asset catalog and preventive maintenance scheduling; write specs, procedures and test programs for reliability testing.
• Prepare technical reports, document test results and assist in selecting reliability equipment.
• Lead cross-functional teams to support reliability improvement opportunities in the plant.
• Apply reliability principles such as ASI, OE, FMEA, RCA, and testing methods.
• Resolve reliability issues and drive improvements across plant areas.
• Install, move, repair and troubleshoot equipment; work safely and report unsafe conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the improvement of the asset catalog, preventative maintenance optimization, and scheduling of corrective maintenance; write specifications, procedures, and test programs for reliability testing and characterization
• Prepare technical reports, document test results, and assist in selection of new reliability equipment
• Assemble and lead cross-functional teams (maintenance, operations, engineering, procurement) to support a wide variety of reliability improvement opportunities in the plant and act as a team resource for all types of breakdowns
• Apply various reliability principles such as Asset Strategy Improvement (ASI), Operating Envelope (OE), Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Motor Circuit Analysis, various infrared thermography routes, structure and air bourn ultrasound routes, motor testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, precision lubrication, and precision alignment
• Resolve specific reliability issues and drive reliability improvements that support all areas of the plant
• Install, move, remove, repair, and troubleshoot equipment
• Work in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions or practices
• Other duties as assigned
