Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom seeks an Engineering Tech/ Reliability Technician in Indianapolis to sustain and improve equipment reliability across facilities. You will support asset tagging, preventative maintenance planning, and data-driven decision making for maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include leading reliability projects, analyzing downtime data, and performing NDT inspections while collaborating with project managers and facility engineers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of facility, manufacturing or power plant maintenance experience.
  • Experience with CMMS (eMaint/Maximo) required.
  • Able to walk site premises and climb ladders with/without accommodation.
  • Able to interpret vendor literature and transfer information to work processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain and drive reliability goals for systems and equipment; identify critical assets and manage change.
  • Coordinate with project managers and facility engineers to document asset tagging, spare parts, and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Execute reliability projects using internal resources and external contractors.
  • Collect and analyze data on equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance activities.
  • Perform non-destructive testing/inspections (ultrasound, infrared, vibration, oil analysis, motor current).
  • Maintain CMMS data integrity for assets, job plans, spare parts, and failure reporting; optimize data for maintenance planning.

Job description

  • Job Title: Engineering Tech/ Reliability Technician
  • Location: 9330 Zionsville Rd Indianapolis IN 46268 United States
  • Duration: Long term – 1 year or more
  • Salary: $65,000 to $75,000 Annually
Responsibilities:

  • Sustain and drive reliability goals including but not limited to reliability of systems and equipment, critical equipment identification and tracking, failure mode and effects analysis, mechanical integrity and change management requirements.
  • Work with project managers and facility engineers to ensure all reliability components are appropriately accounted for and documented in accordance with maintenance and operational requirements. Especially in regard to asset tagging, spare parts, and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Execute reliability projects utilizing internal resources and outside contractors.
  • Collect and analyze data on equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform non-destructive testing/inspections utilizing ultrasound, infrared, vibration, motion amplification, oil analysis, and motor current analyzers.
  • Maintain technical expertise through seminars, trade journals, and contacts with various vendors and industry groups/associations.
  • Provide technical support and training to other departments and functions to ensure site reliability.
  • Serve as resource for data entry into CMMS (i.e. Maximo) for asset management: i.e. new assets, job plans, spare parts, failure reporting.
  • Optimize data in CMMS to ensure integrity of information needed for proper maintenance of equipment: i.e. location, model numbers, preventative maintenance, etc.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance activities by reducing frequencies, adjusting scopes, changing assigned lead, etc.

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • You have experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (e.g. eMaint, Maximo).
  • You enjoy working with others can communicate effectively with all stakeholders to achieve efficient results in your work.
  • You are able and willing to walk site premises and climb ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • You have 1+ years of facility, manufacturing or power plant maintenance experience.
  • You have 1+ years of experience in maintenance/reliability (i.e. developing job plans, optimizing preventative maintenance).
  • You possess a good working knowledge of facility equipment (i.e. air handlers, boilers, chillers, rotating equipment, etc.).
  • You have the ability to interpret technical vendor literature (i.e. Installation, Maintenance and Operation manuals) and transfer this information independently and effectively to critical work processes.
  • You have a working knowledge of piping systems and tools, including design criteria and standards, applicable codes and standards, P&ID, basic piping stress knowledge, Pipe specifications & materials, and construction techniques.
  • You have a working knowledge of piping and instrument drawings, schematics and equipment drawings.
  • You are knowledgeable of standard reliability best practices and principles: i.e. RCM, FMEA, preventative/predictive technologies.
  • You are able to use standard Microsoft applications - Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • You have great time management skills including the ability to manage a substantial work load.
  • You have demonstrated your ability to learn quickly and desire to expand knowledge.
  • You are focused on delivering effective, usable results.
Preferences:
  • You have an Associate’s Degree in an Engineering/Reliability/Industrial Maintenance or related field or are willing to obtain a degree.
  • You have a Reliability certification, e.g. CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or willing to obtain a certification.
