Job summary

Trinseo in Bristol, PA is seeking an Industrial Mechanic to maintain and repair piping, pumps, and tank systems. The role reports to the Reliability Leader and requires following safety procedures, operating a forklift, and performing after-hours support on an 8-hour shift.

Applicants should have strong piping measurement skills, experience with machinery installation, and a HS Diploma or GED. Preference given to those with 5 years in the chemical industry.

Qualifications

• Ability to take and determine dimensions, angles and radii of piping systems.
• Experience troubleshooting pumps, mechanical seals and manufacturing equipment.
• Desirable experience with rigging and installing machinery.
• Experience using metal cutting techniques (grinder, oxy-fuel, pipe cutter).
• Proficient with rotary tools and hand tools.
• Knowledge of pipe schedules, materials, fittings, pressures, valve classes and materials.
• Interpretation of drawings and isometrics.
• Ability to assemble and repair threaded pipe and accessories.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years in chemical industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work procedures for pipe fitting/mechanics.
• Relay technical information to coworkers and supervisor.
• Determine list of materials and parts for work execution.
• Operate a forklift.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
• Support safety observations and Behaviors Based Safety processes.
• Support ISO 9001 and OSHAS 18001 management systems.
• Work on ladders and outside in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, wear PPE including SCBA.
• Work on an 8-hour shift with emergency plant support after hours.
