Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical America is seeking a maintenance technician to support reliability improvements at our Memphis chemical plant. You will perform installation, service, and repair of pumps and mechanical seals, align machinery, and interpret drawings to support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

The role emphasizes safe work practices, problem diagnosis, and continuous improvement to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Three or more years’ experience maintaining a chemical plant.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety rules.
• Able to read/interpret mechanical drawings (single line, schematic, P&I).
• Able to install pump seals and align pumps with a motor using a dial indicator.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment using safe work procedures.
• Assist in diagnosis to determine root cause and facilitate repairs.
• Develop reliability improvements and assist with approved projects.
• Focus on reducing downtime for mechanical activities.
• Install, repair, and maintain pumps and associated equipment.
• Service and repair all mechanical seal types.
• Use work order system to track daily duties.
• Comply with Environmental Management System requirements.
