Job summary
IPG Photonics Corporation in Marlborough, MA, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to ensure long-term performance of ultrafast and UV laser systems. You will lead reliability plans, testing, failure analysis, and cross-functional improvements across R&D, manufacturing, quality, and field service.
The ideal candidate has 3–8+ years in reliability engineering for laser/optical systems, with hands-on experience in ultrafast lasers, coatings, and nonlinear crystals, and proficiency in Weibull analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or optical engineering or physics.
- 3–8+ years of reliability engineering with laser/optical systems.
- Experience with ultrafast lasers, UV lasers, coatings, and nonlinear crystals.
Responsibilities
- Develop reliability plans for ultrafast and UV laser products.
- Lead root cause analysis for field returns and production failures.
- Collaborate with R&D to improve thermal and mechanical stability.
- Perform Weibull and life data analysis to predict longevity.
- Support field service with reliability insights and reports.
