Job summary

General Matter, Inc. is seeking a Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of the hardware we build. You will design and lead accelerated life test campaigns, translate results into design improvements, and build a test-centric culture where reliability is built in from the start.

This hands-on, systems-level role works with test, design, manufacturing, and quality teams, embedded at our south bay Los Angeles headquarters, and may require extended hours to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Strong applied statistics for reliability including life-data analysis.
• Experience with reliability test campaigns (ALT/HALT, durability, or component testing).
• Proficiency with reliability tools and software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead accelerated life test campaigns across hardware.
• Develop reliability plans mapping stresses to field conditions.
• Perform statistical analysis for required test quantities and targets.
• Define reliability requirements across systems and components.
• Analyze test/field data to characterize failure modes and life distributions.
• Lead failure analysis and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Maintain reliability models and artifacts (FMEA/FMECA, fault trees).
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality to embed DfR.
