Job summary

Coeur Rochester, Lovelock, NV, seeks a Reliability Engineer for Mobile Equipment Maintenance to improve safety, reliability, availability, and lifecycle cost of mining equipment at the Rochester Mine. You will analyze condition, failures, and maintenance data to drive defect-elimination projects and maintenance strategies.

The role requires 5+ years in mining or heavy industry, experience with reliability tools, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Five (5+) years of demonstrated experience in mine equipment maintenance or a comparable heavy industrial environment.
Experience with Reliability tools (UT, Thermography, CBM, Oil analysis interpretation, RCA, KPI metrics analysis, developing asset services strategies)
Ability to analyze work order history, downtime, maintenance costs, component life, and equipment performance data.
Experience with Excel, Cat SIS, and oil analysis interpretation
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and time management skills
Software skills in MS Office products and CMMS systems (Oracle), Edge, Dingo Trakka, Oil commander, VIMS/VHMS.

Responsibilities

Monitor health and performance of mobile mining equipment and fixed assets.
Identify chronic failures, high-cost components, and excessive consumption.
Track availability, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance cost, and downtime.
Develop reliability improvement plans based on risk and lifecycle cost.
Maintain bad-actor equipment lists and lead reviews with Maintenance and Operations.
Evaluate whether improvements yield sustained results after implementation.
Lead root cause analyses for significant failures and safety defects.
Gather evidence and data during investigations; develop corrective actions.
Communicate findings in clear technical reports and presentations.
Develop and optimize preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
Review maintenance tasks for effectiveness and optimization.
Support asset criticality assessments and risk-based prioritization.
Facilitate maintenance strategy reviews using reliability-centered methods.
Ensure tasks define failure modes, actions, and standards.
Recommend changes to maintenance intervals based on data and OEM guidance.
Support job-plan development with technical requirements and tolerances.
Identify and scope reliability improvement opportunities.
Coach and train condition monitoring technicians.
Ensure safe, efficient operation and prolong asset life.
Lead improvements and budgets with management teams.
Conduct reliability analysis and trend improvements.
