Job summary

Hecla Mining Co. in Mullan, ID seeks a Senior Reliability Engineer to monitor equipment condition and drive reliability improvements at the Lucky Friday mine. You will lead downtime analyses, support maintenance planning, and push proactive maintenance initiatives to cut costs.

You will work with maintenance planners, manage the CMMS data, perform FMEA and RCA, and report monthly KPIs to improve availability and performance across site operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of five years' reliability engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
• Experience in mining industry preferred, with knowledge of surface, underground and mill operations.
• Must be computer literate and proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems required.

Responsibilities

• Lead downtime analysis for critical equipment to improve reliability and cost outcomes.
• Produce site monthly reliability reports with metrics such as cost impact and KPIs.
• Maintain Asset Hierarchy in the CMMS with accuracy and consistency.
• Perform asset criticality analysis to prioritize reliability initiatives.
• Coordinate Condition Monitoring (OA, VA, MPI/UT, thermography).
• Oversee Defect Elimination to promote proactive maintenance and reliability.
• Monitor and report leading and lagging maintenance KPIs.
• Own Mobile Fleet Defect Elimination processes and drive cost reduction projects.
• Perform FMEA on maintenance changes and lead RCA investigations.
• Provide technical guidance and collaborate with peers at other Hecla operations.
