Qualdoc in Petersburg, VA is seeking an Industrial Reliability & Maintenance Engineer to support reliability initiatives in a heavy manufacturing setting. The role targets individuals who enjoy hands-on problem solving and field troubleshooting with maintenance technicians.

The position emphasizes reliability strategies, RCFA/FMEA driven actions, and collaboration across operations to maximize equipment uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Eng or related discipline.
• 3+ years reliability engineering experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
• 5+ years industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting on production equipment.
• Experience using CMMS for maintenance planning and execution.
• Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Familiar with RCM, RCFA, FMEA and TPM methodologies.
• Experience analyzing mechanical and electrical failures.
• Familiarity with OSHA/ASTM standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in production environment with maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve maintenance reliability strategies for critical equipment.
• Analyze failures and implement long-term corrective actions using RCFA and FMEA.
• Use predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis and thermography.
• Improve preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability.
• Monitor maintenance performance and develop reliability KPIs.
• Recommend improvements to increase uptime and reduce costs.
• Support major maintenance shutdowns and capital projects.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, vendors, and contractors.
• Provide technical guidance and reliability training for teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
