Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Reliability Engineer at Continental Reliability LLC. The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for performing reliability-centered maintenance, conducting failure analyses, and troubleshooting issues to improve the performance and longevity of equipment and systems. Day-to-day tasks also include the development and implementation of reliability engineering principles and analytical techniques to optimize maintenance strategies and improve overall system reliability.
Responsibilities
Each responsibility below is executed within a framework of autonomy, accountability, and technical excellence:
1. Asset Reliability Optimization
- Lead and execute reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies across client systems and platforms.
- Identify failure modes using FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis), and other quantitative tools.
- Analyze asset performance data to determine cost-benefit optimization and strategic reliability improvements.
2. Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Conduct in-depth root cause analyses for complex equipment failures and operational breakdowns.
- Present comprehensive findings and preventive recommendations to senior stakeholders and technical personnel.
- Document RCA results in structured, high-integrity formats consistent with industry standards.
3. Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Strategy
- Design and implement condition-based monitoring systems (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to execute data-driven, preventive maintenance practices that minimize unplanned downtime.
- Integrate predictive tools into existing CMMS and EAM systems for real-time reliability metrics.
4. Data Analytics and Reporting
- Utilize advanced statistical tools and reliability software (e.g., ReliaSoft, Weibull++, Minitab) to analyze lifecycle data.
- Generate KPI dashboards that track Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Develop custom reliability reports tailored for technical and executive audiences.
5. Standards Compliance and Risk Mitigation
- Ensure reliability processes adhere to ISO 55000, API RP 580/581, IEC 61025, and other applicable frameworks.
- Actively contribute to risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and safety integrity level (SIL) determinations.
- Serve as a technical liaison during regulatory audits and third-party inspections.
6. Client Engagement and Technical Leadership
- Provide reliability consulting services to high-profile clients across sectors.
- Guide junior engineers and technicians through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and training delivery.
- Lead workshops, webinars, and briefings on reliability best practices and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Skills in Reliability Engineering and Reliability Centered Maintenance
- Strong Analytical Skills and experience in Failure Analysis
- Expertise in Troubleshooting complex systems and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and in a remote setting
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is a plus
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: 100% Remote (Continental United States preferred)
Schedule
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Flexibility: Flexible start/end times available within core business hours
- Time Zone Consideration: Must be able to collaborate across multiple U.S. time zones
Compensation
- Base Salary: $120,000 – $180,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience
- Annual Performance Bonus: Up to 20% of base salary
- Equity Option: Participation in employee stock option plan (subject to eligibility)
