Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) is seeking a Reliability Engineer for an on-site refinery role. You will join the maintenance and reliability team, supporting daily activities and helping to shape long-term strategy for both fixed and rotating equipment.

You will collaborate with on-site technicians and contractors to optimize maintenance planning, scheduling, and backlogs, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and refinery practices.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial).
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in refining or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of rotating and fixed equipment and refinery maintenance practices.
• Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, backlog management and CMMS.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, Process Safety Management, lockout/tagout and safe-work permitting.

Overview

An established refinery operation is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join its maintenance and reliability team. This role is central to keeping plant operations running safely and efficiently, working across both fixed and rotating equipment while helping to shape long-term maintenance strategy.

Required qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering)
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in refining, petrochemical, terminal, or another heavy industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, fixed equipment, piping systems, and refinery maintenance practices
• Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, backlog management, contract maintenance resources, and CMMS systems
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, Process Safety Management, lockout/tagout, and safe-work permitting
