Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a Reliability Engineer to manage Air Separation, CO2, and Hydrogen facilities and to partner with reliability and operations teams to address long-term asset concerns. The role emphasizes RCA, lifecycle cost analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

The position requires five years of experience in maintenance or reliability engineering within an industrial setting, plus proficiency in CMMS, P&ID interpretation, and various reliability methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum five years in maintenance or reliability engineering in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience maintaining mechanical equipment: compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and machinery drawings.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience in engineering, specification, and design of mechanical systems and projects.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead or participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with multitasking and organizational skills; minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and reliability strategies such as RCM, TPM, FMEA, Spare Parts Management, Scheduling.
  • Travel domestically ~20-25%.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility as one of two Reliability Engineers for North Region assets.
  • Lead RCA processes for major failures to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with reliability and operations teams to identify and resolve asset concerns.
  • Analyze data to justify lifecycle cost and reliability improvements.
  • Review and update maintenance and operating procedures.
  • Develop reliability assessments for facilities and equipment.
  • Support Six Sigma driven reliability improvements.
  • Identify critical spare parts and create BOM for key assets.
  • Balance office and field work with urgency and integrity.
  • Travel domestically up to 25% as needed.

  • Analyze data from multiple sources to recommend and justify lifecycle cost and reliability improvement activities
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis processes for major failures to prevent recurrence
  • Assist in engineering, design, specification, and execution of projects to optimize reliability and operability
  • Review and update Standard Maintenance Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Develop and support Reliability Assessments for facilities and equipment
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma to enhance reliability
  • Lead reliability programs and initiatives to improve asset performance
  • Assist with critical spare parts identification and Bill of Materials creation for key assets
  • Balance office and field work with a strong sense of urgency and integrity

Qualifications
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering and minimum five years of experience in maintenance or reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Further you have proven expertise in maintenance and engineering of mechanical equipment such as compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, piping, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and machinery drawings
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies
  • You have experience in engineering, specification, and design of mechanical systems and projects
  • Strong communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead or participate effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter with excellent multitasking and organizational skills, achieving results with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in standard computer software including Microsoft Office and email
  • Preferred knowledge of regulatory and industrial standards and codes is required in this role
  • Familiarity with machinery installation, commissioning, and process optimization
  • Certification or status as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional or Certified Reliability Engineer is advantageous
  • You have experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and understanding of reliability strategies such as Reliability Centered Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Spare Parts Management, Planning and Scheduling, and CMMS optimization
  • Commitment to uphold safety, integrity, and respect in a diverse and inclusive workplace environment
  • Travel domestically approximately 20-25% of the time and be accessible during off‑hours as needed
