Job summary

Landis+Gyr is seeking a senior Quality leader to drive reliability and quality improvements for industrial hardware and embedded software products. You will lead cross-functional teams, apply 8D, DFSS, and statistics to identify root causes and implement preventive actions, while communicating findings to senior management.

The role requires hands-on experience with MTBF/Weibull analyses and a strong background in product development lifecycles (Stage gate, Agile).

Qualifications

• Minimum BS/MS in Electrical/Electronic/Chemical Eng or equivalent.
• Experience leading quality/reliability efforts in hardware/embedded software environments.

• Driving quality improvement programs
• Maintaining detailed evaluation of product reliability
• Leading problem solving (root cause investigation)
• Orchestrating corrective and preventive actions
• Work with a cross-functional group to characterize product failures
• Discern plausible trends and drive pro-active measures
• Drive the organization to achieve all relevant KPIs
• Lead and execute quality improvements initiatives
• Apply relevant experience, statistical tools and analytical techniques to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and establish root cause of problems
• Work with, and at times, lead cross-functional team in identifying potential quality problems, characterizing failures, and driving corrective and preventive actions
• Analyze RMA data and other field data to predict long-term reliability
• Utilize knowledge of reliability evaluations tools like MTBF, Weibull, etc.
• Produce reliability reports, and other related KPIs for senior management
• Recommend course of action to upper management regarding field reliability issues
• Effectively communicate with decision makers internally and external customers on complex issues, both verbally and using media
• Execute sampling procedures, and direct workers engaged in receiving, measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability Requirements

Experience

5+ to 10

• 5+ years' experience in a leadership role
• Experience in electronics/electrical/chemistry/chemical/mechanical device quality and/or reliability evaluation
• Experience in Hardware, embedded SW (FW), and Device development for industrial systems
• Experience working in quality or continuous improvement delivering robust business process improvements
• Experienced in root cause problem solving, implementing preventative and corrective actions
• Demonstrated skills in data analysis and problem solving
• Experience working within multicultural Groups and Methodologies
• BS, MS in Electrical/Electronic/Chemical Engineering, or equivalent Nice-to-haves
• Knowledge of key supplier/manufacturing control concepts like PPAP, DMAIC, SPC and Six Sigma is strongly desirable
• The ability to read and interpret technical documents, procedure manuals, schematics, data books, handbooks, statistical process control, sampling plans, etc.
• The ability to listen to, understand, and clearly respond to complex technical questions raised by technology savvy personnel
