Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Reliability Engineer Intern to support the Maintenance and Reliability team in improving equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance within a manufacturing environment.

You will gain hands-on experience in preventive and predictive maintenance, data analysis, and continuous improvement, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and operations staff to reduce downtime and boost plant productivity.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Interest in maintenance, reliability, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
• Previous manufacturing, maintenance, or internship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development, review, and improvement of preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
• Support predictive maintenance activities, including vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication, and condition-monitoring programs.
• Analyze equipment downtime, maintenance, and production data to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
• Participate in equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
• Assist in tracking corrective actions and validating the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
• Support continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, safety, productivity, and maintenance efficiency.
• Help develop maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical documentation.
• Assist with spare parts assessments, inventory optimization, and parts standardization efforts.
• Generate reports, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor equipment performance and maintenance effectiveness.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Participate in safety initiatives, audits, and equipment improvement projects.
• Support project engineering activities, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
• Maintain accurate records within the SAP PM module.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
