Job summary

Dyno Nobel seeks a Reliability and Quality Engineer to drive reliability, quality improvements, and data-driven decision-making across manufacturing processes. You will lead initiatives, collaborate across functions, and implement sustainable improvements to uptime and product quality.

Ideal candidates bring a BS in engineering, 2+ years in manufacturing, and Six Sigma Green Belt. The role emphasizes safety, Kaizen-style improvements, and adherence to Safety and Quality Management Systems.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering or related field or comparable experience.
• Six Sigma green belt preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, possibly chemical manufacturing.
• 2+ years of experience driving reliability and quality projects.
• Technically competent with knowledge of materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes.
• Familiarity with Safety and Quality Management Systems.
• Demonstrated ability in optimizing reliability and quality, e.g. reducing failure rates and increasing uptime.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and/or lead commitment to Zero Harm through safety behaviors.

• Increase production reliability by driving projects to improve uptime and finished product quality.
• Identify and implement new production processes from inception to implementation.

• Establish baselines, measures, targets, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Align with the Nobel Way and implement framework to improve reliability and quality and site costs.
• Lead maintenance and process improvements with controls to sustain results.
• Data collection, analysis, recommendations, and implementation of opportunities.
• Apply statistical tools for data-driven decisions.
• Introduce innovative ideas and be a change agent to sustain improvements.

What You'll Do:

As a Reliability and Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for driving operations reliability and quality improvements using engineering tools. You will support improvement initiatives and ensure participation from all areas of responsibility. Other duties include:

• Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety
• Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
• Live and foster the Dyno Nobel Corporate Values
• Increase production reliability by driving projects to improve production uptime and quality of finished products.
• Find new and improved production processes and develop and execute a plan from inception through implementation of the project for improvement.
• Find root cause and develop and implement actions to address root cause of mechanical breakdowns and quality concerns.
• Establish baseline, develop measures/targets, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Align with the Nobel Way, identify and implement framework and strategy to improve reliability and quality, directly impacting the site costs.
• Use technical know-how for making area preventative maintenance improvements and process improvements. Lead and/or implement these improvements ensuring controls in place for sustaining results.
• Employ hands-on approach to data collection, analysis, recommendations of opportunities, and implementation
• Apply statistical tools for data-driven decisions.
• Introduce innovative ideas and technologies and be a change agent to effectively implement and sustain.

What We're Looking For:

• BS Degree in Engineering or related field or have comparative level of experience desired.
• Six Sigma green belt preferred.
• 2+ years of experience from manufacturing operations, possibly chemical manufacturing.
• 2+ years of experience driving reliability and quality projects
• Technically competent with knowledge of materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with Safety and Quality Management Systems
• Demonstrated ability in optimizing reliability and quality e.g. reducing failure rates, increasing uptime, increasing first pass yield, etc.
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player.
