Job summary

Dyno Nobel Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support and drive maintenance strategies at our facility. You will help plan outages, develop execution tools, and lead maintenance improvements while adhering to safety standards and corporate values.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, at least one year of plant-based experience (chemical manufacturing preferred), and proficiency in SAP and MS Office; a teamwork-oriented, proactive mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• At least 1 year of plant-based experience; chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge with focus on sustainable, cost-effective maintenance.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning major outages and maintenance strategies.
• Develop maintenance execution tools and work management processes.
• Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Provide technical support to the Mechanical Maintenance Team.
• Initiate maintenance strategy improvements and RCA activities.
• Collaborate with Reliability Group at Nitrogen Site.

What You’ll Do

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will provide technical support to facilitate the execution of equipment maintenance strategies. You will initiate improvement in equipment strategies and implement modified strategies. Other duties will include:

• Assist in the co-ordination and planning of major outages.
• Assist in the development of execution tools and work management processes.
• Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5’s, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
• Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
• Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
• Provide technical support to the Mechanical Maintenance Team
• To complete small projects (<$1m) and to provide justified briefs to the Project Team for larger jobs.
• Develop maintenance execution tools.
• Initiate maintenance strategy improvement activities.
• Participate in maintenance strategy improvement activities such as RCA.
• Effective influence of internal customers and peers to deliver acceptable solutions to maintenance problems.
• Recommend the implementation, assist in development of maintenance and manufacturing strategies.
• Interact closelywith the Reliability Group at Nitrogen Site

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1+ yearsexperience in a plant-based role. Chemical manufacturing preferred.
• High level of technical knowledge with an emphasis upon sustainable and cost-effective maintenance solutions.
• SAP experience preferred
• Computer literacy inMicrosoft Office Suite
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
