Job summary

Jobtailor in Houston, TX is seeking an ROI Clerk to initiate release of information by inputting data into Verisma Software and to process medical ROI requests promptly.

You will read medical records, organize documents, provide customer service in person, by phone, and by email, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

The role reports to the Manager of Operations, Release of Information, and requires detail orientation, ability to work independently, and RHIT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of medical record experience.
• 2+ years of clerical/office work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Input data into Verisma Software to initiate ROI requests.
• Process medical ROI requests in a timely manner.
• Organize records and documents to complete the ROI process.
• Provide customer service in person, on the phone, and via email.

Job description

• Initiate the medical record release process by inputting data into Verisma Software
• Process medical ROI requests in a timely and efficient manner
• Process requests utilizing Verisma software applications
• Support the resolution of HIPAA-related release issues
• Organize records and documents to complete the ROI process
• Read and interpret medical records, forms, and authorizations
• Provide customer service in person, on the phone, and via email, depending on location requirements
• Interact with customers and co-workers professionally and courteously
• Utilize Verisma reference material to maintain compliance and confidentiality
• Attend required training sessions
• Promote Verisma company values
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Report primarily to the Manager of Operations, Release of Information

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of medical record experience
• 2+ years of experience completing clerical or office work
• Experience using general office equipment including desktop computer, scanner, Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be detail oriented
• RHIT certification, preferred
• Some college preferred
• Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information, preferred
