Job summary

PayIt, a GovTech leader, seeks a Release Manager to coordinate end-to-end software releases across product, engineering, and client teams. You will own release schedules, deployment planning, and incident response, ensuring smooth production changes and clear stakeholder communication.

You will also design and optimize Jira workflows, automate processes, and maintain robust documentation to support scalable delivery and risk management across PayIt Outdoors initiatives.

Release Planning and Coordination:

• Develop and maintain PayIt Outdoors Release schedule by coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of business goals and project objectives and deliverables.
• Working with the client teams and engineering teams to plan and deploy hotfixes.
• Working with the DBE’s and Eng teams to schedule and deploy releases.
• Collaborate with product managers, operations, development teams, and quality assurance to define release scope and objectives.

Release Execution

• Oversee the end-to-end release process, including User Acceptance and Production deployment activities and rollback plans, to ensure smooth and successful releases.
• Schedule and run release reviews
• Make sure required work is included in releases.
• Keep track of the branches and make sure the merges occur after sprints.

Communication and Documentation:

• Communicate release schedules, status updates, and potential risks to stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed documentation of release processes, configurations, and dependencies.
• Create and maintain documentation of issues and resolutions.

Risk Management:

• Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact the success of software releases.
• Establish and enforce change control and release management processes.

Incident management

• Oversee the end-to-end PayIt Outdoors incident response lifecycle. Key responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional resources during active incidents, validating proper resolution and closure, and tracking critical process metrics to continuously improve response efficiency.

Jira Administration

• Workflow Architecture: Design, build, and maintain custom Jira workflows, issue types, field configurations, and permission schemes tailored to team needs.
• Process Automation: Create and optimize Jira Automation rules and integrations to streamline operational handoffs and reduce manual overhead.
• Project & User Administration: Manage site-level project configurations, access control, user roles, and board configurations across departments.

Annual Salary Range: $110,000—$140,000 USD
