Evergy is seeking a Relay Technician Apprentice (Technician I–IV) in Hutchinson, Kansas. The role supports installation, repair and maintenance of protection and control equipment for substations and related systems.

Minimum qualifications include a 2-year electronics-related degree (4-year engineering tech preferred). A strong technical background with systems, microprocessors and power knowledge is required, with overtime and on-call expectations typical for this utility critical work.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree in electronics or the equivalent; four-year Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology degree preferred.
• Minimum qualifications include knowledge and experience to assist other Technicians, Relay or Senior Technicians.
• Bachelor/associate level degrees in relevant engineering/tech fields are preferred.

Responsabilités

• Install, repair and maintain apparatus, equipment and wiring used in system protection and control of substations and other equipment.
• Provide technical support for other departments.
• Assist Technicians, Relay or Senior Technicians as needed.
