Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Relay Settings Engineer in its Design Engineering department. You will design and coordinate protective relaying schemes, conduct short circuit studies, and deliver technical solutions to clients ensuring adherence to standards.

Qualifications include a BSEE with a power systems focus and experience in protection/relay settings; ASPEN/CAPE and CYME familiarity are a plus. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus; MS may substitute.
• Experience in protection and relay settings.
• Experience using ASPEN or CAPE.
• PE registration or plan to become registered is a plus.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• Ability to identify necessary software for design work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven multitasking and document management abilities.
• CYME familiarity; reclosers/sectionalizing schemes/fuse coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes.
• Conduct modeling, short circuit, and overstressed breaker studies and provide protective relaying recommendations.
• Ensure relay settings activities comply with company and client design standards.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions in real time.
• Collaborate with Qualus teams to develop and implement technical solutions for engineering objectives.
