The RM is responsible for building comprehensive financial relationships with existing and prospective clients by understanding their operations, leadership, growth plans, and economic trends. They recommend appropriate financial services such as loans, deposit accounts, and treasury services to meet client needs and establish trust. Working closely with a Portfolio Manager (PM), the RM analyzes clients' financial conditions to assess credit risk and proposes credit structures to mitigate risks. The RM also presents to CCB leadership for loan approval and collaborates with the Treasury Management Sales Representative (TMSR) and Financial Services Representative (FSR) to support clients' cash management needs.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- The Relationship Manager is the primary contact for clients where credit may be extended. They work with a team including a PM, TMSR, and FSR to:
- Analyze client information, including operations, assets, leadership, and growth plans, to determine acceptable credit risks within bank policy.
- Assess financial information and economic trends to recommend suitable financial products.
- Secure collateral and appropriate documentation, including appraisals and environmental studies.
- Manage credit exposure and participate in loan approval processes.
- Lead presentations to leadership and loan committees outlining financial analysis and recommendations.
- Coordinate the loan documentation process and gather necessary documents for onboarding and compliance.
- Review existing credit relationships for compliance and quality, including statement and collateral analysis. Recommend changes or placements on the Loan Monitor List as needed.
- Assess risks related to construction lending, ensuring safeguards are in place for project completion and risk mitigation.
- Maintain detailed activity records in the CRM system.
- Visit clients regularly to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities, tracking activities in CRM.
- Make overdraft decisions on assigned accounts and non-borrowing clients.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Advanced knowledge of loan documentation.
- Ability to work independently with moderate oversight.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience.
