Job summary

Orange Catholic Foundation (OCF) seeks a Relationship Manager to steward donor relationships and advance assigned initiatives within a dynamic nonprofit environment. The role emphasizes cultivating engagement and meeting ambitious fundraising targets across various programs.

Reporting to the Chief Relationship Officer, you will build partnerships, manage implementation plans and budgets, and help surpass fundraising and engagement goals, including evenings and weekend commitments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic Church ethics, traditions, procedures and organizational structures.
  • Bachelor's degree plus five+ years of experience in relationship management, nonprofit organizations, fundraising, event planning, hospitality, customer relations, sales, financial planning or business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and achieve measurable goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Facilitates vibrant exchanges of ideas in an environment of open communication.
  • Ability to deal discreetly with donors, staff, and sensitive and confidential information is essential.
  • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside OCF.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Outlook. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build, cultivate and strengthen authentic relationships with donors, prospective donors and community partners.
  • Serve as the primary Relationship Manager for an assigned portfolio of OCF initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to cultivate new donors while strengthening existing donor relationships and increasing participation.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Relationship Officer, implement strategies to achieve fundraising, participation and engagement goals for assigned initiatives.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of donor interests, philanthropic goals and opportunities for engagement.
  • Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with donors and partners through personal outreach, meetings, phone calls, written correspondence and stewardship activities.
  • Represent OCF professionally at Foundation events, community gatherings and donor meetings.
  • Develop and manage implementation plans, project timelines and assigned activities for OCF initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and managing annual work plans and budgets for assigned initiatives.
  • Collaborate with OCF staff, volunteers, vendors and community partners to ensure the successful execution of assigned initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for assigned programs and events.
  • Monitor progress toward established goals, evaluate outcomes and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate donor information, interactions and activity records within Raiser's Edge.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports and post-event reports summarizing results, lessons learned and recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of Orange Catholic Foundation by completing all other tasks as assigned.

OCF is an independent 501(c)(3) corporation that was formed in Orange County to serve the Catholic community. OCF plans and conducts major fundraising programs and events, including the annual Conference on Business & Ethics, seminars on Charitable Giving and other special fundraising events. Summary /Objective

OCF believes philanthropy is rooted in relationships. OCF seeks a passionate and dynamic nonprofit professional, who will serve as the primary ambassador for an assigned portfolio of OCF initiatives, cultivating meaningful relationships that inspire generosity, deepen engagement and advance the mission of OCF. Success in this role is measured by the strength of relationships developed, achievement of assigned goals, quality of program execution and meaningful advancement of OCF's mission. Because all OCF employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience/Skills
  • Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic Church ethics, traditions, procedures and organizational structures.
  • Bachelor's degree plus five or more years of experience in relationship management, nonprofit organizations, fundraising, event planning, hospitality, customer relations, sales, financial planning or business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and achieve measurable goals.

Work Conditions

  • Some local travel may be required for meetings, trainings, or work-related events.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing administrative and computer-based tasks.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and movement around the parish or office facilities to support programs and operational needs.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds, such as materials, supplies, and event equipment.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating office equipment, preparing materials, and managing paperwork.
  • Visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and visitors in person, via email, and by phone.
  • Must be able to set up and dismantle chairs, tables, and other equipment required for meetings, programs, or campus activities as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work/Compensation

This is a full-time position with an annual rate of $74,984.00 - $89,986.00 (a bi-weekly rate of $2,884-$3,461), depending on qualifications and experience. Regular office hours are 9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. As an exempt position, additional hours may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, including donor meetings, events, seminars and other organizational priorities, including evenings and weekends.
