Overview

Relationship Bankers are responsible for identifying customer needs and matching them with the appropriate bank products and services to enhance a current or prospective customer’s satisfaction, loyalty, and financial well-being. Utilizing proactive sales/service efforts coupled with the recognition of referral opportunities, Relationship Bankers will deepen customer relationships while also processing a variety of cash and non-cash transactions.

Role Specifics

Relationship Banker II - Floaters will travel between assigned branch locations.

Responsibilities

  1. Coach and serve as a mentor to Relationship Bankers and Tellers
  2. Review/approve various transactions including night drop contracts/logs, ATM deposits, collection items, money orders, official checks, and cash drawers
  3. Handle cash shipment and vault management for a branch
  4. Originate consumer loans
  5. Identify customer needs and make appropriate referrals through proactive sales/service efforts
  6. Service, sell, and cross-sell deposit accounts, loan products, insurance products, cash management services, etc.
  7. Deliver an exceptional customer experience following Trustmark’s service standards
  8. Safeguard bank assets and security while processing transactions accurately
  9. Balance cash drawer daily and ensure proper documentation
  10. Achieve sales and referral goals quarterly, transforming service into sales opportunities
  11. Make outreach calls to customers and prospects
  12. Comply with bank policies, procedures, and performance standards
  13. Travel between branch locations
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. 2 years of face-to-face customer service, retail sales, or prior Trustmark Relationship Banker experience with a record of exceeding performance goals
  3. Ability to learn Trustmark lending guidelines and process loans within 2 years
  4. Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)
  5. Basic math skills and ability to handle routine transactions and close cash drawers
  6. Exceptional customer service skills and product knowledge
  7. Pass assessments in customer service and math skills
  8. Ability to meet sales goals in a retail environment
  9. Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal systems
  10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  11. Time management skills
  12. Attention to detail and accuracy
  13. Professional appearance and mannerisms
  14. Experience in maintaining and balancing cash drawers preferred
  15. Prior supervisory and loan processing experience preferred
  16. 2 years of banking industry knowledge preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods, use a computer, and lift at least 20 pounds.
