Role:

To provide exceptional member service and build strong relationships by offering personalized financial solutions and guidance to members of Mazuma Credit Union. This role focuses on understanding Member needs, recommending appropriate products and services, and processing transactions accurately and efficiently. The Relationship Advisor will contribute to the overall success of the branch by achieving individual and team sales goals while adhering to all credit union policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding Member service by greeting Members warmly, actively listening to their needs, and offering personalized product recommendations and solutions.
  • Process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and account transfers.
  • Open new accounts, including checking, savings, money market, certificates of deposit, and individual retirement accounts (IRAs), ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
  • Proactively identify and recommend appropriate Credit Union products and services to members based on their individual financial needs and goals, such as loans, credit cards, and online banking.
  • Achieve individual and team sales goals by actively promoting Credit Union products and services and participating in sales campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all transactions and Member interactions.
  • Resolve Member inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating complex issues to management as needed.
  • Stay informed about Mazuma products, services, policies, and procedures, as well as industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Adhere to all Mazuma security protocols and procedures to protect Member information and assets.
  • Maintain a professional and organized work environment and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Knowledge and Skills:

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals and building strong customer relationships.
  • Experience with handling cash and balancing transactions accurately.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in using financial software and systems.
  • Experience with opening and closing accounts, processing loan applications, and providing financial advice to customers.
  • 1 year of financial institution experience/retail banking strongly preferred.

Education:

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance, including Saturdays.

Work Environment:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled shared work environment with minimal noise.
