Job summary

Hippo Insurance is hiring a Reinsurance Operations Manager in Morristown, NJ to lead day-to-day reinsurance operations and serve as the liaison for the ReAcct ceded reinsurance system. You will collaborate with accounting, data, and IT to ensure accurate contract setup, billing, and reporting.

You will drive completion of cession/billing statements, track receivables/payables, and ensure timely reconciliations and close processes in collaboration with the treasury function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance, accounting, or operations experience.
• Experience reviewing and approving the work of others.
• Intermediate Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)

Responsibilities

• Learn and document reinsurance processes and data needs.
• Review ceded reinsurance terms for new/renewal programs.
• Coordinate with Data/IT to define data requirements for setup.
• Lead contract setup for quotas and excess of loss programs.
• Oversee reconciliations between subledger and source systems.
• Manage cash application, settlements, and monthly reporting.
• Oversee ceded reinsurance subledger, tracking capacity and system enhancements.
