AXIS Capital in New York is seeking a Claims Lead – Grade I to oversee complex reinsurance claims, ensure timely documentation, reserving, and adherence to regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, finance, and legal teams to drive high-quality outcomes and strengthen client relationships.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in insurance or reinsurance claims, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with claims systems.

Qualificações

• Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance and/or reinsurance claims handling.
• Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance principles, coverage analysis, and claims handling practices.
• Working knowledge of legal processes and laws applicable to insurance claims.
• Familiarity with reinsurance customs and practices and laws applicable to reinsurance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience using claims management systems; knowledge of SICS is beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Handle assigned reinsurance claims and claim portfolios in accordance with AXIS Re claims guidelines, delegated authorities, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure claims are promptly and accurately documented, evaluated, reserved, and processed throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Analyze claim submissions, loss notices, and supporting documentation to assess coverage, liability, financial exposure, and reporting requirements.
• Identify and elevate coverage issues, large losses, accumulation concerns, and other material developments in a timely manner.
• Maintain case reserves and monitor claim activity and loss development on assigned accounts.
• Partner with underwriting, actuarial, finance, and legal teams to support effective claim management and informed business decision making.
• Communicate directly with brokers, cedants, and other stakeholders regarding claim developments, information requests, coverage matters, and reporting requirements.
• Participate in claims audits, including audit planning, file selection, audit attendance, preparation of audit reports, and communication of findings and recommendations.
