The Reinsurance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the operational and analytical aspects of reinsurance programs tied to F&I products such as Vehicle Service Contracts (VSC) and GAP. This role assists in the setup, maintenance, and performance tracking of reinsurance structures, including dealer-owned reinsurance companies (DOOCs) and retro programs. The Analyst will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and insightful analysis that supports strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities of the Reinsurance Analyst
Operational Support:
- Assist in the setup and administration of reinsurance structures including DOOCs, retro programs, and other F&I-specific arrangements.
- Coordinate with reinsurers, administrators, and internal teams for agreement tracking, renewals, and settlements.
- Support onboarding of new dealer reinsurance programs and provide ongoing operational assistance.
- Maintain organized documentation for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal reporting.
Analytical Responsibilities:
- Compile, validate, and analyze reinsurance data to assess program performance and profitability.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders and dealer partners, highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Support financial modeling and forecasting related to reinsurance structures.
- Assist in evaluating the impact of regulatory changes and market developments on reinsurance performance.
Compliance & Collaboration:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies related to reinsurance and F&I products.
- Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Legal, Account Orders, and Sales teams to ensure alignment and data integrity.
- Monitor and summarize industry trends and regulatory updates relevant to F&I reinsurance.
Qualifications of the Reinsurance Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, insurance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance operations or analytics and having at least 2-3 years of experience in P&C Insurance or within the F&I industry is required.
- Familiarity with F&I products such as VSC and GAP is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization tools or reinsurance platforms is a plus.
