Job summary

Sharon Health Care Center in Peoria, IL, is seeking a Rehabilitative Services Associate (RSA) for 2nd and 3rd shifts on a full-time basis. You will assist residents with daily living activities, monitor health signs, document findings, and support group activities, with training available for the right candidate.

You must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED and have at least one year of direct patient care experience; experience in long-term care or geriatric health is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires 18+ years old and a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of direct patient care experience is required.
• Experience in long-term care, behavioral health or geriatric health preferred; training available.

Responsibilities

• Provide both formal and informal interactions with consumers in a friendly, therapeutically appropriate, and helpful manner.
• Assist consumers with activities of daily living including oral hygiene, dressing, bathing, room upkeep, hair care, and nail care.
• Attend to episodes of incontinence or accidents; assist with bathing and obtaining clean clothing.
• Measure and record vital signs and report findings to Health Services.
• Provide prompts and escorts per Individualized Treatment Plans.
• Assist at mealtime with menu selection and provide after-meal care.
• Monitor behavior in the medication line and offer assistance as needed.
• Assist with groups and activities; complete required documentation.
