MedVet is seeking a Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician to join our fast-growing Emergency and Specialty team in Chicago. You will work closely with clinicians to improve mobility and recovery through physical therapy, water therapy, laser therapy and other modalities.

The ideal candidate will hold a State Registered Veterinary Technician license, have prior veterinary experience (rehabilitation a plus) and be comfortable with calculations, client communication and documentation in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required, rehabilitation experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prioritize caseload and patient care, prepare and review charts for appropriate paperwork, as well as ensure accurate documentation.
• Restrain and assist with examinations and therapies.
• Prepare prescriptions, harnesses and needed information for clients.
• Discuss therapies and recommendations, as well as address client questions and concerns.
• Coordinate interdepartmental communication, services, patient transfers and consults.
• Perform and/or assist with patient therapies using multiple modalities including underwater treadmill, laser therapy, chiropractic adjustments, ultrasound, Assisi loop and land therapies.
