Job description

Rehabilitation Therapy Aide – Rehabilitation Services

Join the transformative team at City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago, and Phoenix. Our dedicated and compassionate employees are driven by a common mission: To deliver the cures of tomorrow to the people who need them today.

About City Of Hope Orange County

City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.

With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.

Join our dynamic rehabilitation team and help make a real difference in patients' lives! In this hands-on role, you'll support physical, occupational, or speech therapy services and assist activity coordinators to bring care and recovery to life. From helping with treatments to keeping equipment ready and everything running smoothly, you’ll be an essential part of a team that empowers patients every day.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Provide patient-related tasks under the order, direction, and immediate supervision of a licensed/certified rehabilitation therapist. The therapist shall determine those patient-related tasks that can be safely and effectively performed by the aide.
  • Assist the licensed/certified therapist in performing patient-related tasks such as observation of the patient, transport of patients, physical support during gait or transfer training, demonstration of proper exercise or activity technique, and non-patient related tasks such as housekeeping duties, clerical duties, and similar functions.
  • Be responsible for data management, including data input, maintenance of database, and data reporting as required.
  • Interact effectively both inter- and intra-departmentally on a regular basis for planning and coordination.
  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment for patient treatments.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or Equivalent, some college preferred
  • 0-1 year experience in an acute care setting as a rehabilitation therapy aide or equivalent
