The Rehabilitation Therapy Aide provides hands‑on support to Therapists by assisting with therapeutic activities, ensuring client safety, and maintaining clean, organized treatment spaces. This role also supports departmental operations through scheduling, documentation, equipment management, and guidance for volunteers and interns. This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.

The essential functions of the Rehabilitation Therapy Aide position include but are not limited to:

• Support therapists with direct client care activities such as assisting with transfers, applying braces or splints, preparing equipment, and providing pool-side assistance as requested.
• Carry out assigned therapeutic activities under the direction and training of the supervising therapist.
• Promote client safety by providing stand‑by assistance, monitoring equipment use, and assisting with basic equipment checks or repairs.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, following departmental guidelines.
• Use the EHR system to assist providers with schedule management, including scheduling, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments, utilizing reminder tools to reduce no‑shows and cancellations, and running reports and preparing information for leadership.
• Ensure treatment areas are properly supplied and equipped, requesting purchases or restocking as needed.
• Perform routine and deep cleaning of therapy spaces, equipment, and materials according to established schedules and standards.
• Provide guidance and oversight to volunteers and student interns, ensuring they understand and follow appropriate procedures.
• Manage laundry needs for the therapy department, ensuring timely cleaning and availability of items.
• Provide clerical and communication support, including sending faxes and external communication as needed, and copying reports, home programs, and other materials.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and in‑services, completing all required competencies and keeping CPR/First Aid certifications current

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Comfortable working with individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs
• Safe and competent physical assistance skills (transfers, mobility support, equipment handling)
• Possess static, dynamic, and trunk strength necessary to assist transfers, ambulation, resistive exercise routines, and other functional mobility activities repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities
• Basic mechanical aptitude for assisting with minor equipment checks or adjustments
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients, families, therapists, and volunteers

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a High school diploma or GED
• Current and active CPR & First Aid Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a healthcare, rehabilitation, fitness, or disability‑services setting
• Prior exposure to EHR systems or clinical scheduling workflows
• Experience with adaptive equipment, mobility devices, or assistive technology
