POSITION SUMMARY
This position is ideal for experienced Certified Nurse’s Aides, Restorative Aides, fitness coaches or students of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
As a Rehabilitation Technician, you will assist physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists by providing routine exercises such as strengthening, mobility, breath support, cognitive and general group activities for patients under their direct care and supervision. While you will not be responsible for skilled interventions or evaluations, your role is essential in helping patients improve cognition, endurance, communication, mobility, strength, and overall well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist patients with basic exercise programs, group activities, and mobility activities as directed by licensed therapists.
Set up and clean therapy areas, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
Educate and encourage patients to perform prescribed exercises correctly.
Assist in transferring and positioning patients for therapy sessions.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient participation and report progress to therapists.
Support therapy staff with administrative tasks, such as preparing equipment or scheduling appointments.
Foster a positive and motivating environment for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
Qualifications/ Experience
Background in skilled nursing, fitness training, exercise science, or rehabilitation is preferred.
Basic knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and equipment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Current enrollment in or completion of coursework in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, empathy and patience working with the geriatric population to effectively motivate and engage patients.
Ability to follow instructions from licensed therapists and work within strictly defined limitations.
Physical ability to assist patients with mobility and exercise routines.
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) preferred.
Willingness to travel between facilities as needed

Physical Requirements
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
Working throughout the nursing areas
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, lifting more weight up to 100 pounds requires assistance.
Ability to read fine print on tablet, progress notes and/or medical labels.
